The Cookery School at The Waring House was started in 1999 and has grown in popularity ever since. Its wide variety of recreational cookery classes is designed to appeal to everyone from beginner to gourmet cook. No matter what level of skill you have, no previous experience is necessary to participate in these fun and informative classes.
Limited to a maximum size of twelve to fourteen students, hands-on classes are held in a specially designed kitchen under the guidance of local and guest chefs. Everyone cooks, everyone eats, and everyone has fun. Typically, each three hour hands-on class includes a meal; however, depending upon the topic, students may simply take away the fruits of their labour. Throughout the period from October to June, classes are held on Saturday mornings as well as one evening per week. In summer, classes take place Sunday mornings and one evening per week. Cookery class schedules may be viewed online or brochures may obtained at the Waring House. Occasionally cooking demonstrations may be offered in order to appeal to larger audiences.
Private classes are perfect for girls’ getaways, wedding showers, birthday parties, meetings, seminars, and team-building exercises. Click here to learn more about T.E.A.M. experiences. Available for groups of eight or more, you can plan your class on a subject, witin reason, of your choice. To organize a private cookery class, please contact our event coordinator, Henriette Labelle-Campbell at events@waringhouse.com.
